A doctor who has walked this road
Dr. McCully's Own Fertility Story
At 29, an ectopic pregnancy led to emergency surgery and left Dr. McCully with one fallopian tube. Colleagues told her a natural pregnancy was unlikely. She later learned she wasn't ovulating every month and was diagnosed with PCOS.
After two years of trying, she had her first child at 35. Before her second, her thyroid levels were in range but not optimal; once they were optimized, she conceived after five months and had her second child at 38. Before her third, she ran every test she runs for her own patients, followed a 12-week program, conceived on the first try, and had her third child at 41.
She knows the two-week wait, the fear and the hope, and she brings that understanding to every woman she works with.
