Getting Started

What makes Wellness Architecture different?

Dr. McCully looks for the reasons your body is out of balance instead of chasing individual symptoms. Care runs as a structured program built from detailed testing and analysis, and once your health is restored, ongoing HealthSpan care helps you keep it that way.

How do I get started?

Start with a free discovery call. If Wellness Architecture is a good fit, the next step is a 75-minute Discovery Experience ($250) that includes a treatment session, a detailed symptom review and a review of your past labs.

How long will it take to feel better?

It depends on how long you've had symptoms, how severe they are, and your history. Many patients notice changes within a few weeks, while deeper patterns take several months. Starter programs run 5 to 16 weeks.

What is the difference between an MD and a naturopathic doctor?

Both MDs and NDs are trained to prevent, diagnose and treat disease. MDs typically treat with pharmaceutical drugs and surgery. NDs look for the underlying causes of symptoms and use a range of natural therapies, and in California NDs can also prescribe certain medications, such as bioidentical hormones and thyroid medication.

What training does a naturopathic doctor have?

A naturopathic doctor completes a four-year bachelor's degree followed by a four-year graduate medical program covering anatomy, physiology, immunology, clinical and laboratory diagnosis, cardiology, gastroenterology, gynecology and more, plus clinical nutrition and botanical medicine. Graduates pass board exams to become licensed.

Working Together

How do we communicate between visits?

Through the secure Practice Better app. You can message questions, share updates, upload results and receive guidance between sessions, all in one place.

Do you treat men?

Yes. Women tend to come first, and men often join after seeing their partner's results. Men receive the same individualized care.

Do you work with teens or children?

Yes, with teens, for concerns such as mood, energy, sleep, hormone shifts and focus. Parents stay informed through the Practice Better app. Younger children are seen occasionally when the whole family commits to a program.

Do you work with vegan or plant-based patients?

Yes, with honesty about what results require. In Dr. McCully's experience, clinical improvements tend to come faster when the diet includes high-quality animal protein, and she supports plant-based patients as fully as she can.

Insurance, Payment and Labs

Do you take insurance?

Wellness Architecture is a private-pay practice. HSA and FSA funds are accepted for every program, and the team can provide a letter if your plan needs one.

Can labs be billed to insurance?

Standard labs can be billed to PPO or EPO insurance. Patients with an HMO get negotiated cash pricing on standard labs, and specialty labs are always cash-pay. Lab fees and your glucose monitor are billed separately from program fees.

How can I pay?

Check, ACH bank transfer, Zelle, Venmo, Visa and Mastercard. Programs carry a 3% discount when paid by check, bank transfer or another cash-equivalent method.

What labs does Dr. McCully order?

A comprehensive panel at the start of your program, including a complete thyroid panel with free T3 and reverse T3, fasting insulin and A1C, ferritin and vitamin D, plus a continuous glucose monitor. Labs are usually repeated 2 to 3 times a year during maintenance, and specialty tests are added when they will change your plan.

Medications and Supplements

Do you work with patients on prescription medications?

Yes. Many patients take prescription medications. Dr. McCully works alongside your medical team rather than replacing it.

Does Dr. McCully prescribe hormones?

Yes. She prescribes bioidentical hormones and thyroid medication herself, when they are the right fit.

Can I work with you while taking a GLP-1 medication such as Ozempic, Wegovy or Mounjaro?

Yes. Some patients want help with side effects, others want metabolic support during treatment, and many want to come off the medication while protecting their progress. Your MD manages any change to the medication itself.

Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications?

No. Dr. McCully does not prescribe GLP-1 or other weight-loss drugs. Her programs address the underlying drivers of weight gain instead.

Do I need to buy supplements from you?

It is strongly recommended. Supplements are lightly regulated, and products bought online are sometimes expired or counterfeit. Wellness Architecture buys directly from professional manufacturers and keeps both an in-office and an online dispensary. Please allow one week's notice for refills.

Programs and Policies

What happens after my first program?

Many patients move into a HealthSpan program focused on prevention and keeping their results, with ongoing support for the long term.

What if I miss an appointment?

Wellness Architecture has a two-business-day cancellation policy. Initial consultations require prepayment, and missed appointments are deducted from your program, with exceptions for special circumstances.

What Dr. McCully Does and Doesn't Treat

Is my body too far gone to fix?

Rarely. Unless something is permanently damaged or missing, such as cartilage worn away in a joint, the body recovers once the right conditions are in place. If you're unsure, a free discovery call is the place to ask.

Do you treat cancer?

No. Natural medicine cannot treat cancer in the United States. Dr. McCully supports recovery after treatment and helps rebuild strength and energy, and refers patients for integrative support during treatment.

Do you treat Lyme disease?

No. Dr. McCully refers patients to providers who specialize in Lyme disease.

Do you do heavy metal chelation?

No. Wellness Architecture does not perform chelation therapy. If you need medically supervised chelation, another provider is a better fit.
