Trying to conceive

The Two-Week Wait Shouldn't Feel This Lonely

Month after month of tracking, hoping and starting over takes a toll. Being told your tests look normal, or that IVF is your only option, leaves you with more questions than answers. You deserve someone who looks at your whole body and stays with you through the process.

  • Trying for months without success
  • Irregular or absent periods
  • PCOS or suspected PCOS
  • Thyroid concerns
  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Failed IUI or IVF cycles

A doctor who has walked this road

Dr. McCully's Own Fertility Story

At 29, an ectopic pregnancy led to emergency surgery and left Dr. McCully with one fallopian tube. Colleagues told her a natural pregnancy was unlikely. She later learned she wasn't ovulating every month and was diagnosed with PCOS.

After two years of trying, she had her first child at 35. Before her second, her thyroid levels were in range but not optimal; once they were optimized, she conceived after five months and had her second child at 38. Before her third, she ran every test she runs for her own patients, followed a 12-week program, conceived on the first try, and had her third child at 41.

She knows the two-week wait, the fear and the hope, and she brings that understanding to every woman she works with.

What Dr. McCully Looks at Beyond the Standard Workup

Standard fertility tests check structure and reproductive hormones. Dr. McCully adds the metabolic and nutritional layer that often explains why conception isn't happening.

  1. Blood sugar and insulin

Fasting insulin, A1C and a continuous glucose monitor, central to PCOS and regular ovulation.

  2. Thyroid conversion

A complete thyroid panel with free T3 and reverse T3, not TSH alone.

  3. Nutrient status

Ferritin, iron and vitamin D, which affect ovulation and early pregnancy.

  4. Gut health

Digestion shapes how well you absorb nutrients and process hormones.

  5. Hidden infections and inflammation

Lingering infections keep the body in a state that works against conception.

  6. Both partners

Male factor plays a role in many couples' struggles, so partners are welcome.

Alongside your fertility clinic

Support Before, During and After IVF

Natural fertility support works alongside medical fertility care, not instead of it. Dr. McCully helps women and couples:

  • Prepare their bodies in the months before an IVF or IUI cycle
  • Look at what earlier cycles didn't address after a failed attempt
  • Support recovery and overall health after treatment
  • Prepare for natural conception when no structural cause is present

Eggs mature over roughly three months before ovulation, so the work you do now shapes the cycles ahead.
