Functional Lab Testing at Wellness Architecture

At Wellness Architecture, we believe understanding your body is the first step toward lasting health. Functional lab testing uncovers hidden imbalances that standard labs often miss, giving you clarity, insight, and actionable guidance to restore vitality.

Why Standard Labs Often Fall Short

Most conventional labs focus on detecting disease. They use broad reference ranges, and 95% of people fall “within normal limits”, even if they’re experiencing fatigue, brain fog, hormonal issues, unexplained pain, or weight loss resistance.

This is why many patients leave doctors’ offices frustrated—told everything looks normal despite ongoing symptoms.

Dr. McCully evaluates labs differently. She considers optimal ranges and the interplay between multiple systems, connecting patterns that may appear unrelated to the naked eye. By looking at how blood sugar, hormones, immune function, inflammation, and nutrients interact, she can often identify the root cause of complex, persistent symptoms.

Our Custom Wellness Panel

For most clients, we start with a comprehensive custom wellness panel that includes key markers for:

  • Inflammation and immune function
  • Blood sugar regulation and metabolic health
  • Thyroid and hormonal balance
  • Nutrient status and cellular function
  • Indicators related to pain, fatigue, and weight loss resistance

We can order these tests through your PPO or EPO insurance. For clients with an HMO, we’ve negotiated affordable cash-pay pricing. Specialty labs—such as GI panels, food sensitivity testing, and mold testing—are always cash-pay and ordered when needed.

Blood is drawn either at Labcorp (our preferred partner) or in your home by a recommended phlebotomist.

How Functional Labs Differ from Standard Labs

  • While standard labs focus on whether results are “normal,” functional lab testing evaluates:
  • Optimal ranges for peak health, not just disease detection
  • Patterns across multiple systems to identify early imbalances
  • Root causes behind persistent symptoms, including fatigue, pain, and weight loss resistance

This approach allows Dr. McCully to uncover what others miss, giving you a clear path to restore balance, vitality, and resilience.

Already Have Labs?

Bring any recent labs to your first appointment. Dr. McCully will review them and often can gain immediate insights into your health. In most cases, additional testing is needed, so we typically order the custom wellness panel to get a complete picture from the start.
