Julie was feeling terrible. She and her husband had been patients almost 10 years ago. I got a call from him at the end of February. He said, “I think Julie needs to come see you again.” He told me what was going on with her and said the reason he was reaching out was because she had told him that when she was working with me she felt the best she had ever felt in her life.
So both of them came in a few days later. We put together a plan. She was hesitant because it was a large investment and was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to follow through with what she would have to do. Her husband, we’ll call him Dave – said, “Julie, you’re doing this.” Yes, this is a big investment, but what will we do if you don’t do it? I don’t think we have a choice.
It’s been almost 6 months since that day, and Julie will tell you that this program has changed her life. And you can hear it for yourself next week in her video testimonial.
Her pain is gone. She is running again. She generally walks 10,000 steps a day. She does pilates 2 x week. She has lots of energy – can easily play with her grandkids. And can even get down on the floor and play with them. She’s not depressed anymore. She feels like she can take care of the people in her life because she does not need to be taken care of physically.
And she will tell you that she couldn’t have done it without the support of her husband. And that being there at her first appointment that day was really important, because if she had come alone, she likely wouldn’t have signed up for the program.
Julie has the typical weight loss story of lose, gain more, lose and gain even more. She’s done Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. And why at this point does she know that this is the last time she’ll have to lose weight?
She doesn’t feel like she’s on a diet because she doesn’t have to restrict her calories. Her calorie intake is higher than it was when she started. She was able to lose weight with short periods of calorie restriction, but it was more about keeping her blood sugar stable and making smart choices. She is eating food to feel good instead of to look good. And the ironic thing is now that she’s eating more, she looks great!! And even better, she feels great.
She told me yesterday that the flaw with Jenny Craig for her was that you had to eat processed food all the time and it just wasn’t sustainable. And with Weight Watchers, it was more about how much/little you were eating rather than the quality of the food. She has learned so much about her body and what makes her feel good. Her confidence is obvious now. And I feel grateful to be on the journey with her. I feel lucky to love what I do, and people like Julie are the reason why.
If you know anyone who needs someone to walk beside them on their journey – tell them to give me a call. 650-233-7327. Tell them to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. I would love to help!
