The best way to know if low energy is your body protecting itself

Symptoms that often go with low energy: difficult weight loss pain depression sleep disturbance foggy thinking cold hands and feet hormonal imbalance (The list could go on and on and on…) If you have any of these symptoms, you are probably suffering from Cellular inflammation.

Never heard of it?

If we get more granular about our body function, it all boils down to cells. If we think about our digestive system, joints, muscles, our thyroid, our ovaries or testes, lungs, liver and kidneys – these are all things we understand and generally with respect to our health this how things are discussed.

Is you liver working well? This would show up as how well you can detoxify.

How about your digestion? Are you pooping regularly?

If we were to use a microscope on all of these larger organs/glands/tissues, we would discover that the cell walls are inflamed. And the reason we are having all of these symptoms is because messages cannot get to the cells to tell them what to do. Whether it is making energy, making hormones, receiving hormone signals, letting in nutrients or getting rid of waste, normal metabolism they are all caused by communication to and from the cells that is cut off because of inflammaiton.

All of these symptoms are coming from the same source. And unfortunately they are typically looked at on a much grander scale which makes us think that our difficult weight loss, joint or muscle pain and our brain fog, depression, sleep issues, exhaustion, hot flashes and anything else we can think of is unrelated. So we end up treating many different things when there is only one real cause.

So the question is…how is low energy related to all of these symptoms and how is it protecting us? If our cells are inflamed – our organs and glands cannot operate the way they are supposed to, things start falling apart. In order to protect our bodies, our mitochondria (known as an energy maker inside the cell) are actually also sensors. And when they sense that things are not functioning well they limit the amount of energy they make so that further damage will not occur.

So the answer, in short, is if you have a number of symptoms and one of them is fatigue, even though they may seem unrelated, you likely have cellular inflammation. The cells are protecting your body from further damage by forcing you to rest so that healing can occur.

So what do I do about this?

Detoxification is a term most of us have heard of by now. But there is another level of detoxification that addresses not just liver, lung, kidneys and colon. It’s called cellular detoxification. We can refer to these as downstream (liver, lung, kidneys and colon) and upstream (cellular) detoxification. When we only address downstream (organs) detoxification, we see can see a major shift and benefit, but often short lived. When we address both, healing on a whole other level occurs.
