regular detoxification
Regular detoxification is a part of many cultural traditions around the world. The purpose is to rid the body of excess toxic build-up in order to run more efficiently. Toxic build-up can be a result of over-eating as well as impurities in our food, air, water and medication.
Toxic build-up can be compared to a vacuum cleaner with a bag that is full. In this case, we wouldn't expect it to clean the floor. Even if we added extra suction, we still wouldn't expect it to clean the floor, simply because the bag was full. In order to remedy the problem, we need look for the cause - which is a full bag. So, we empty the bag and the problem disappears.
Similarly, when our "bag" is full (i.e., a build-up of toxins in our system), our body is unable to function optimally. It is unable to filter out what we don't need and the end result can be many forms of malfunction and imbalance including illness, weight gain, heart and autoimmune diseases, diabetes, arthritis and advanced aging just to name a few. As with the vacuum cleaner, emptying the bag (i.e., regular detoxification) can solve the problem. If the bag isn't emptied, it overflows. The dirt has to come out somewhere. Similarly, if we don't clean out our bodies, the overflow is expressed as symptoms. When we clean out the "dirt" regularly, our symptoms often disappear and the progression of disease may be slowed or reversed.
Regular detoxification gives our cells a chance to clean themselves out. The result can be more energy, less stress, better skin, improved sleep, increased metabolism and a disappearance of unwanted symptoms.
